Johnny Herbert,a driver who could have been an all time great racing driver but someone up there just doesn`t like him for some reason!
Ever since he started his driving career herbert has been so unlucky,more so than any other driver ive known he doesn`t just have patches of bad luck its constant.
I believe that if he hadn`t had his crash at Brands Hatch in his F3000 days he would have been a world champion at least onc.He was dominant in his years upto it taking numerous titles,but the leg still hampers him I believe.With the G-forces asserted on the body during braking it must hamper him a bit having a leg not as strong as the other drivers even if hes not feeling pain.Also after a shunt like that your confidence must be dented beyond repair and I believe following the crash he wouldn`t be prepared to take the same kind of risks as the likes of Hakkinen,Schumacher etc.I believe in the same situation as Hakkinen was at Spa this year Johnny wouldn`t have been prepared to pull off a monouever of the same quality.
Its great that at least through all his bad-luck hes won his home race and a fantastic drive at the Nurburgring last year also netted a superb win and I wish him luck in the future with Champ Cars.
