High Street or Online?Newest Review: ... of view, branch banking wins hands down. You cannot talk to a human being face to face with online banking - although doubtless the video link will come! Branches offer this service, and if you feel your stuck with an inexperienced staff member, ask to see someone else! It works!! Speed Of Use: I personally use the Halifax service - it is quick, real-time and links in with all there ... more |

There are joys in online banking and clear benefits of branch based banking. For the purpose of this opinion, I will refer soley to Current Account products. Security: This one is as broad as its long. At the end of the day, your debit card can be used fraudulently, whether you bank online or not. The bottom line is, as long as you have not been negligent, you will be refunded in full. The same applies to having your account hacked. It could happen, it would be a pain, but you will not ultimately be out of pocket. Ease Of Use: You cannot pay in cash to your account via your floppy disk drive! From this point of view, branch banking wins ... Read the complete review

This opinion shall provide relevant comparisons between the benefits and downfalls of both banking methods. I hope that it shall aid you in your decision to choose which banking method you shall undertake. Security of your account and your funds is without a doubt the most important thing to consider when choosing whether to use online banking as a pose to real-time. Of course, seeing your cash actually being placed inside your account and inside the actual bank building is very reassuring as you know for a fact that the money is there but with Online banking you are never sure until you finally see the increase in balance on your computer screen. I have given some thought as to the presentation of this opinion and I think the best way is to list each bank facility and the pros and cons of both Online and High Street usage. 1. The most important thing with any bank is security. You don’t suddenly want all your hard-earned cash to disappear now do you? The main High Street banks have got this one pretty well sewn up. They have all been around since Adam was a lad (as my dad says) and you know that your money will be safe there, well as safe as it possibly can be anyway. ... Read the complete review

Many people already abuse the veil of secrecy that the internet provides. Some use it to try and con people out of money, some use it to harass and stalk, some use it to annoy their competitors. The on-line banks and their customers are an easy target. The main problems are not the security of the banks, but the security of the customer's computers. Bearing in mind that not all virus checkers are able to pick up all viruses or trojan's every time - you have a serious crack before we start. Some internet service providers illustrate this problem, they check every e-mail that their customer receives with not one, but THREE, virus checkers. If an ... Read the complete review
