Avoid Having Adverts on your Computer (Hijack Ware)

I thought that I would help out by actually saying how easy it is to avoid Pop-up's, Viruses, Hackers, Ad-ware, Spyware and the latest craze Phishing.

Well lets start with your computer. First I suggest that you get a better Firewall then MS Firewall (the one that is already in your system). Change it to Zone Alarm, (google Zone Alarm and you should find it). Second thing to do is to, download AVG it will get rid of any Spyware and Viruses.

Next thing to do is to get your browser sorted. I recommend Mozilla Firefox, I like this because you can ask it to delete cookies after use, Download this from the Firefox site, But also available from C-Net (www.download.com). To do this.

1. First go to Tools> Options
2. Go to Privacy
3. Find Cookies and select them "Delete after Firefox Closes"

Now that you have done this, I advise that you choose wisely on what site you want to go on. With AVG active it will scan websites that you search on Google.

Another good thing to do with Firefox is to disallow redirecting sites, this will stop websites redirecting you to sites that you don't wont to view, and placing cookies that you don't need.

HOW TO:

1.Go to tools>Options
2. Choose Advanced
3. Select General
4. And click on the Check the "Warn me when a website tries to redirect or ect"

Another thing is not to install programmes that are not well known. I recommend downloading any programmes from www.download.com as they tend not to put advertisements inside programmes.
