I feel sorry for Martina Hingis she is a brilliant player but because she lacks the power she has failed to win a grand slam for two years.
As a sixteen year old she exploded on to the tennis scene and won grand slam after grand slam. But now with the emergence of the William sisters and with Davenport, Pearce and Seles already on the scene, Hingis finds it difficult to compete with the big servers.

Her game isn’t based on power but on skill and flair. She has a great tennis brain and seems to play like an artist. It’s a pity that Hingis hasn’t got the strength of the Williams sister because I am sure with her range of shots she would have been able to compete well.

I think Martina Hingis will always get to the semi-finals or the finals but whether she can win or not is a different matter. She lost to the William sisters in the French and Wimbledon grand slams.

I hope she continues to do well she is so young and has won so much but unless she manages to compete with the big servers she could fade away.
