Advantages: great for asthmatics

Disadvantages: none

While in town with my cousin for lunch we got chatting about the dampness she has in her sons bedroom, an elderly neighbour had told her to try baking soda, as this would get rid of the problem and keep it from returning, so she decided she was going to give it a try.
(not sure yet, if it has worked)

I had heard before that Baking soda is good for cleaning and for getting rid off any unwanted odours, so I decided to also buy some, it cost 60p from the Mace.

The product I bought is Valleygold Baking soda, which comes in a 500g plastic blue and yellow packaging.
On the back of the packaging it lists several ways in which you can use the soda

Household cleaning

Using baking soda you can clean sinks, worktops, ovens, pots and pans, refridgerator, chopping boards, tea pots, tiles, baths etc....... All you need to do is sprinkle some baking soda on to a damp cloth and wipe and rinse.

Household deodorising

This is a traditional way of getting rid of odours, sprinkle soda into bins, carpets, between loads in the dishwasher and in a saucer in the fridge.

First Aid

Baking soda can be used to soothe heat spots, nettle rash, and chicken pox, it`s also ideal for bee stings, insect bites, burns, sunburn and will even soothe a black eye, to do this you need to mix soda with water until you have a paste.

For personal care

For a refreshing bath or foot soak add a cup of baking soda to a tub of warm water to soothe and condition tired skin.

The obvious use is for baking

Bicarbonate of soda

I was amazed at some of the things that baking soda could be used for, if I had known I would have bought this product a long time ago.

Since buying this product I have used it mainly for household cleaning and for odours.

Result

Does it work ? YES it does work, it works just as well as any other cleaning product, I am pleased with the result and will continue to use baking soda for cleaning purposes, an added bonus for me is that by using the soda I have cut down on cleaning sprays which is good for my asthmatic son.

Thanks for reading

Summary: I wish I had bought baking soda a long time ago

Unless you have any strong odours coming from your fridge, you will need to refresh about once a month. But, great review even without my previous comment.

Baking soda is so versatile I make sure I am never without it. My son found it worked to remove sap spots on his car that even T-Cut couldn't remove and at a fraction of the price!
