I discovered this trick by accident but will continue to do it and not spend so much money on individual products.

I live in a very hard water area, and use 'Sanilav' toilet cleaner with descaler. It does a great job on the toilet bowl especially if left overnight.

I accidently spilt some in the sink of our cloakroom whilst cleaning the toilet, don't know how but I did...well it is only a small room. The phone rang and I left the room. When I got back to the job in hand I found that the Sanilav had done a brilliant job on cleaning the sink too. The bowl had discoloured with limescale and even after using the recommended products to clear the limescale in sinks and drains, it wouldn't shift. The plug hole and bowl could be cleaned without extra effort.

I shan't waste money on the recommended item any more, I'll stick to using the Sanilav
