~ ~ Although he was a bit before my time, Ben Hogan was the golfer who I most admired and looked up to as a boy learning the sport, and who I tried my best to emulate. My admiration for this great player began when I watched a film called “Reach For The Sun”, which was the story of the life and career of this awesome professional. ~ ~ Ben Hogan was born in Dublin in Texas in 1912, and passed away in 1999 at the ripe old age of 87.
