Advantages: none
Disadvantages: bad
One time people thought homeless and begging were issues caused by poverty in third world nations.
Four in every thousand people in UK are homeless.
There are more NGO's dealing with this issue than ever before but the problem is not reducing.
lack of social housing, lack of resources offered by government, expensive private housing, illness and drug abuse are main reasons.
Cut backs by social services, NHS and other government departments resulted in thousands sleeping on the streets, drugs are in schools, on street corners and drug lords are not punished as in other countries. Police is not detecting drugs coming from abroad. Drugs could be fun to start with but many end up on streets.
Nobody cares about people living in these conditions.
I think people should care, because with high employment and economy doing so well there is no excuse and what about charities shouldn't they be creating resources for people.
It is OK to give money to other nations in form of development grants and it is not OK to ask councils to build more houses or for the government to give more money to poor or for the charities to spend more on homeless.
Homeless issues are different in most parts of UK. Many of the NGO's only deal with local problems. There is no national strategy so the problem will continue for a long time.
Summary: help shoulf be given
