This depends on type of company one works in. Working for Burger King doesn't require education. Work there for few years and you will be promoted to supervisor and then if you are good work to manager.

Management in the city is more difficult.

Management of a football club is even more difficult.

Running a country is even, even more difficult. Ask Tony Blair!!!

Here are few simple rules of climbing the ladder.

Men

Be jack the lad if that doesn't suit work place take out mates for drinks a lot.
Don't get married that could be a problem in socialising.
Make friends with colleagues to cover your back.
Work hard spend lot of hours at work place.

Women

Be very friendly with your bosses. Watch BBC drama THIS LIFE to find out what I mean!
Good looking women are always popular.
Clever ones are also.
Know your job inside out
Dedicate your life to your work
Relationships should come second.
