Advantages: SAFE!!!

Disadvantages: none really

When I travell abroad the way I like to carry around by foriegn money is in the way of Traveller's Cheques. I preffer to use Travellers Cheques to taking cash as you know where you stand with Traveller's Cheques and they are more reliable then cash. Traveller's Chwques are excepted widely at places abroad like hotels along with many returant's which also except them. Traveller's Cheques don't come with the hassle that cash and credit cards come with. Also you won't have to worry about people cloning your credit cards or stealing your cash as you can claim your Cheques back if they are lost. Traveller's Cheques are availible from all good travel agent's and they have a good rate of exchange so on your next holiday, don't take any risks just use Traveller's Cheques.

Yup, seems rushed. Not much information here. It does very much depend upon where you're travelling - try using Travellers' Cheques in China!
