The disaster in Madrid was just awful and only a week later there was a problem with a Ryanair flight that had to divert when the cabin lost pressure and the air masks were deployed, the worrying thing about this latter experience was that many of the passengers claimed that the air did not work and there was no communication to the passengers. I was not exactly happy to hear the response on the radio from the boss of the airline who dismissed the passengers cocerns and said everything was handled well, not sure how happy I would be if the plane I was on plummeted so many thousand feet and the air mask did not work, maybe for him in frst class they did work ok.

Having said all that I find flying to be fine, certainly not enjoyable because of the cramped conditions but acceptable none the less when it comes to getting across long distances. After all te safety records of most airlines are perfectly fine and if you do find yourself flying one of the more dodgy ones then either you have cut corners in the cost looking for a cheap flight so it is your own fault or you have no alternative available which means it is just tough luck.

The only thin I do worry about is the impact on my body of flying especially this deep vein thingy you read about however I always ask for an aisle seat so that I can get up and walk about which helps prevent any problems plus it is easy to get to the loo as well.
