This is a subject which is a pointer to the changing values of modern society, i'm sure back in my dad's day there would have been no vast selection of books on parenting like there is today.
Often the most effective methods are those which are suggested by total outsiders, those people who are capable of looking at the situation as it is without emotion.
Nowadays its legally and morally wrong to spank a child, this i personally disagree with as i got the odd clipped ear and slapped arse - yet im not doing to bad in life, i've not become socially unstable by being shown a bit of discipline when i was younger.
Young kids today do show a distinct lack of respect to anyone and everyone and i think its a direct reponse to the increase of the so called 'nanny-state' or governments and social workers.
how are we to discipline children then i hear you ask - fairly simple i say, we do it how our forefathers did and learn as we go along!
