Advantages: Having children

Disadvantages: Having children

It is not possible to answer this question with the simple advice. There are no many rules you can set as we are all different and our children are very different. Even your own children are different and you have to adjust your attitude between them.
You are rightly asking: Why am I writing this. Well, I have 2 boys (1 and 4) and, as all parents, I think I know the right way and I am the best parent in the world.
I think children are not a problem. The problem lays in us - parents. We start getting frustrated when we (subconsciously) start recognising our behaviour we don't like and our shortcomings in our children. Children are getting even worse when you are getting tense and nervous and things are very quickly out of the control.

The technique I use is distraction in all possible subtle varieties you can find. Also working on self control so that your anger about finances, job, bills, everyday life don't get vented out on children, can help a lot.

The last resort I use when I get frustrated with the child is to swap children with my wife and go one-to-one with each of them. If one of us is stuck again we swap again. Both parent and child get a break and distraction. That works for us.

It is not easy to find a balance between creative playing, fun and setting borders which child cannot pass - but what's easy in life. It is not easy but rewards can be really fulfilling.

Summary: That's life

yep your children are still young as duncan says and boy oh boy you have so many delights to come, the teenage years are a difficult time because you try to guide but they have to find their own way.
