Through My own experience of dealing with difficult behaviour both in My Son and Other Children, who suffer challenging behaviour problems, brought on by conditions such as ADHD.( Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder). I have learned, using behaviour Therapy methods, greatly improve a childs understanding of the concequences of thier behaviour, on them selves and others around them. Children then are better able to controll and contain their attitutdes and behaviour, thus negating the need for any other form of disipline.

Using rewards for bad behaviour, which sounds daft but actually works, shows the child that although they are displaying bad behaviour, when it is channelled in the right direction, rewards and good behviour prevail.

Such as the child who makes a mess, at the table, thier room or toys, can be shown that to tidy them up, even just piling the toys up or stuffing clothes in the draws,plates and dishes into the sink but not washing.. then rewarding that behaviour with an extra helping, a cuddle or even a simple thankyou,, then later the child will wash up or put things even tidier ,, because he/She knows that rewards will follow. This is not bribery and curruption, but a simple method of changing unruley behaviour into a positive , learned behaviour which is non confrontational and actualy common sense when you think about it..... The addage that "what ever I tell them, they then do the opposie" actually works here. If you yell and scream to get a chore done or fight it out over issues then nothing is solved.. but I you use a simple kind of Reverse phschology gets results in the most amazing ways.
