Advantages: keeps children in order?

Disadvantages: can unnesicarily hurt children

Personally I think use of the cane in schools and even smacking or slapping is barbaric and amounts to picking on a child simply because they are smaller and weaker than you and probably do not know any better. Or at least this was what I thought until I got a bit older and started to see other children outside my nice schools. Some children deserve to be killed rather than smacked, some kids I have met I would advocate the death penalty for. Some would argue that disciplining a child makes them more sensible and a fear of authority is a good thing and in some cases this is true but some children do not need straightening out as they are alright from the start. Some admittedly do need a bit of discipline to keep them on the straight and narrow but some no mater what you do it makes no difference. There are some children who just wont listen wont work and go out of their way to be nasty you can see the pattern as soon as you meet them, minor offences till 20 in prison by 25 and then bigger and bigger crimes after that. I do not believe we can set any real level for discipline as some children will be abused by it and some will abuse it.
