Its a good book but as with all books they become out of date so quickly.
My advice is save you money and go on one of the commitment to medicine courses run by www.futuredoctors.co.uk.
The tell you everything you need to know to prepare your UCAS application, your personal statement, how to excel at the medical school interview and they also run certificate courses giving you experience of medical clinical skills.
Check them out at www.futuredoctors.co.uk

If any graduates or mature students are thinking about applying to Medical School, pleases take the time to read this. It is a bit long-winded, but I hope to discuss some salient points that will help others if they wish to train to be doctors. Here goes, i'm 29, have a BSc in biochemistry and a PhD in clinical biochem. For a number of years (i.e. 6), I thought about studying medicine and to be honest, it became a firm ambition. So, last August, I decided to apply for the new 'Graduate Entry' course, which is a year shorter than the normal 5 years and has 3 years of funding to boot. So, I thought "i've good degrees, have worked with patients ... Read the complete review

That is, if like me you start an engineering degree and subsquently discover a desire to be a medic you will have to take a year out and rediscover the joys of ucas, while if you start a medicine degree and then decide you want to be an engineer you can simply swap courses. What I'm trying to say that if you're fairly sure you want to study medicine but ... Read the complete review
