How to write a good Speakers Corner review

Newest Review: ... for your review. There may be more than one result so you can be very specific in your review. For example, I was looking through reviews about conspiracy theories today and found one about theories in general and a category specifically for theories about 9/11. You can do general and specific reviews around similar subjects but try to avoid repeating yourself. THINK ABOUT STRUCTURE: This isn't absolutely necessary but it makes it easier on readers if you break your review up into paragraphs. I find it useful to write short headers when I have a number of points to make as it reminds me what I intended to write about and stops me from w... more

The great thing about Speakers Corner is that anyone can write a great review of something they are really interested in. Here are my top tips for those wishing to participate but unsure of how to start. HAVE A GOOD LOOK AROUND: It's worth doing a thorough search through the reviews in Speakers Corner as they are so many and varied. You can find all sorts of weird and wonderful topics. The chances are that if you are interested in it, someone else is too so use the search function to find the perfect category for your review. There may be more than one result so you can be very specific in your review. For example, I was looking through reviews about ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review It's *YOUR* Opinion That Counts (1256 words)

My opinion on how to write a good Speaker's Corner review (from here on SC) is simple enough. It's a review that makes people think about the question being posed or the topic under discussion, and which (usually) attracts a lot of comments and reactions in the "comments" box of the review; both pro and anti. (As not everyone is going to agree with you) Right off, I'm stating that if you're reading this review with a view into getting some "writing tips" then you've come to the wrong place. I don't think I'm qualified to tell anyone how to write. If you want tips on writing decent SC reviews then go to an English teacher or a journalism ...  Read the complete review

To celebrate my 'unofficial' 2000th review (don't ask) I thought I would write in Speakers corner, the section that first got me and many others interested in dooyoo-somewhat unfortunately for dooyoo. Sitting proudly atop the Speakers Corner crown list for the last 4 months I figure I know enough about this bit to have my say before I no longer sit atop that list. Not because I'm going to dump the category or stop trying so hard to write a good standard of work now the reads and cash have dried up but because I don't think there will be much of a speakers corner section left to be on top much longer, the crowns abruptly drying up for me and many others in this once ...  Read the complete review

What sort of conceited arsehole would presume to write in this category? Anyhow, a good speakers corner review is one of the rarest of beasts. You could blame this on a number of factors; the poor categorisation of Speakers Corner itself being a good place to start. Littered with weird and wide ranging topics with bizarre recent additions including, "Member advice on being a Wedding Guest" and "Help to find Madeline Mc Cann", Speakers Corner is truly an excellent stomping ground for any idiot who can string a couple of hundred of nonsensical words together. However, you cannot simply blame dooyoo's poor quality control for the, often ...  Read the complete review

Before I had a good understanding of Speakers Corner, I compared it with the only other thing that I had experience of, i.e. Ciao's cafe, and this really was a blunder on my part. Little by little, I started to understand that Dooyoo was a more serious site, that people wanted to inform the public and that the categories being suggested for the Speakers Corner area of the site showed that others had misunderstood the concept as well as me. Let's take a trip into Hyde Park. You come along to have your say in speakers corner, you have your soap box, and you stand up in front of a crowd and shout at the top of your voice “Smoking in public places is crappy ...  Read the complete review
