I have been a huddersfield town fan for about 6 year now and i love it, everything about the day out is excellent. Home matches: I usually set off from my house that is about 20 minutes away from the stadium about 90 minutes before the kick, and we get parked up and go for a drink in the ropewalk which is next to the stadium and always packed with fans. We usually enter the stadium about 40 minutes before kick off to get a pint and a pie and put a bet on at the stadium bookmakers. The stadium starts to fill up and the tension builds as 3pm approaches, we take our seats in the john smiths stand right in the middle of the singing ...  Read the complete review

As a fan of the club, I have to ask myself what is happening, and what is our fate? In 1994, we moved from the falling down Leeds Road Stadium, to the Fabulous Alfred McAlpine stadium, and things started to look up again for the club. Promotion was acheived into Division 1, and the club managed to get into the final of the Auto Windscreens final, I started to expect great things. We were expected to go back down in our first season in Divivion 1, but we survived the hard first year, and we languished mid table for a couple of years, at the same time buying the clubs best player of recent years, Marcus Stewart. Then, one season it looked as if we ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Huddersfield R.L.: They Didn't Deserve Their Fate (308 words)

I would like to make it clear that I am a non-Huddersfield Town fan but I can't help feeling for the club as they were relegated from Division 1. A couple of seasons ago Huddersfield were challenging for promotion under manager Peter Jackson. Jackson was previously unknown and was to be Huddersfield's saviour, managing in a few games to squeeze out of the relegation zone at the end of the season. Fans were so delighted that the club made a video aptly titled 'The Great Escape'. The next season, while going for at least a playoff place, chairman Barry Rubery (a Leeds Utd fan) decided that he would bring a bigger name manager to ...  Read the complete review

Huddersfield Town season started with what should have been optimism, and although started well going 1-0 up against Watford in the opening game, the season (other than Sheffield Wednesday, away) as been a disaster. Not only have Town performed badly on the field they have also experienced problems off the pitch and have lost both a Chairman and a Manager. Owner Barry Rubery replaced former Chairman Ian Ayre and then after a series of disappointing results Steve Bruce was replaced has manager by Lou Macari. Huddersfield have had immense injury problems and at one time have had 10 first team players 'out of action', including 5 strikers. Before the season started ...  Read the complete review

Huddersfield R.L.: Is Bruce the man? (123 words)

Steve Bruce's quiet in the transfer market indicates happiness with the squad. Only Kevin Gallen has been linked with the club, which seems strange as Bruce spent frugally and wisely on the under-rated Martin Smith and Chris Hay, both bought for a song last season after the controversial sale of Marcus Stewart. With Clyde Wijnhard in attack, the Terriers do not have the worst forward line up of the challengers by any means. Huddersfield were in a play-off place from October until the final day of the season, but promotion would have been a blessing in disguise. A midfield of Chrises Beech and Holland could do well with stylish Dutchman Dean Gorre able to ...  Read the complete review
