Advantages: He was a great draw and made tons of money

Disadvantages: Not the best in ring wrestler

Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea is probably the most famous wrestler of all time. It was him along side WWF owner Vince McMahon who marketed Wrestlemania and Hulkamania is a way that made Wrestling move out of the old smelly grimey circus-show into the mainstream family viewing audience.

Hogan started out in Wrestling in the AWA before being picked up by Vince and turned into a money making machine. Together they brought in Celebrities such as Mohammed Ali and Cyndy Lauper, along with Mr T who were all huge at the time to promote the very first Wrestlemania and they never looked back.

Hulk won his first WWF title from the Iron Sheik in 1984 and went on a reign of dominance through out the late 80's and into the early 90's defeating and feuding with the likes of Macho Man Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, King Kong Bundy, Roddy Piper and most famously Andre the Giant.

The match against Andre in the Pontiac Silverdome was in front of almost 80,000 people and it was here that he clinched superstardom, slamming the 500lb behemoth to the mat.

In the early 90's Hulk decided to have a crack at the movie world, after a couple of family movies in Suburban Commando and Mr Nanny and a TV show named Thunder in Paradise. Hulkster returned to the ring, but this time it was for WCW, The WWF's biggest competitor.

In 96 Hogan turned heel (bad guy) and spear headed and invasion group known as the NWO , This brought about another Wrestling boom in the late 90's when watching wrestling was cool again, at least for a little while.

Through fall outs and backstage politics, Hogan had a bust up with creative writer Vince Russo in 2000 and never returned to a WCW ring, the company went out of business and was bought over by rival McMahon.

In 2002 Hogan returned to the WWE , almost as popular as he'd been at his height, he feuded with the Rock in a match that stole the show at the 18th Annual Wrestlemania and since then has won the WWE title once and then made several one match returns to the company.

Now a WWE Hall of Famer, Hogan had his own reality show with VH1 known as Hogan Knows Best, and it's currently hosting the new American Gladiators show.

Hulk Hogan although not the most athletically gifted wrestler is no doubt the biggest and possibly the greatest of all time.

Summary: The biggest name in Wrestling history.
