Description: Sports: Football / Sport Topic: Football Clubs & Teams

Newest Review: ... if the club would fold. However a few years ago a brand spanking new football ground was constructed. The club moved there in 2002. Sadly part of the local park's best trees had to go to accommodate the stadium. The old Hull Cricket Circle vanished from its regular venue also. A new walkway was constructed so that, if necessary, visiting fans could be police escorted straight to the stadium ... more

As a born and bred Hull-ite I can safely say that I have read, heard and seen much, often bad news, about Hull City football team over the years. I am not a footie fan and Hubby has more than a passing fancy for Manchester United. Still on the whole he loves football and despite following Man U will watch any half decent football match on the old goggle box. When he and I were young Hull City or The Tigers had some successes but in recent years have had more than their fair share of defeats. The standing local joke if The Tigers won used to be -'Who were they playing?. Blind Institute?' Not politically correct these days but you catch my drift. Not ...  Read the complete review

I've followed these boys since I was a kid and could understand the concept of football, so I thought I'd try and reform a few of my fellow ciao buddys ;) Originally, I am from Leeds and yes, still live in Leeds. So, why do I support Hull? Well, because of family ties. A lot of people in Leeds think I'm a total loon for supporting a division 3 team when I could support the "might whites" but I think there's more passion involved in supporting a team for being that team, not glory seeking. Oh yeah, and I'm a girl, shocking eh!! Girls do like football!! I'm a bit of a rarity down at Boothferry park actually - I've ...  Read the complete review

Well, here we are again a year on and the mighty HCAFC are still staring a playoff place in the face but with everything to do to claim it. The future as it was last year, is in the players' hands, but what is actually at stake this year? Last year we had a committed squad of journeymen like Big Kev Francis up front, Gary Brabin and Mark Atkins. This lot were a motley bunch, but they were playing for their careers. They knew that the only way to get a contract beyond the end of last season was for them to show the manager they could do the job in taking the Tigers into a higher division. This resulted in a commitment and team spirit of the like I have nver seen ...  Read the complete review

It's been a roller coaster ride for Hull City fans during the last few seasons, with administration, being brought out at the last minute, players moving in and out and a ever changing league position eventually resulting in a playoff place in which they lost. Hull were put into administration at the start of last year, due to unpaid taxes, totalling over £1.5 million. A deadline was put in place for the debts to be cleared or face expulsion, but this was later extended. Step in Adam Pearson. Just before the deadline he stepped in with a package to save the club. Pearson was at Leeds United in the position of commercial director, but resigned to make himself ...  Read the complete review
