**~Pursuing A Life Offline~**

After being stuck in the office all day yesterday glued to my computer, I asked myself a question.....Could I live without internet? Is there a true or false, right or wrong answer to this question? My own answer to this would probably be yes. I could definitely 'live' without it. I could survive on a day to day basis and get through life without the means of internet....but how great a life would that be?
So many people have mentioned that because we lived without the internet before, surely we could live without it again? However, because of the nature of our lifestyle today and how the world has changed socially in the past decade, I believe it wouldn't be possible for so many reasons....

I grew up in a world of great technology, I won't deny that. We had television, radio, mobile phones (just about). But we didn't have the internet. And we were happy. My days were full of toys, games and outdoor fun. Kids nowadays are embersed in a world of online gaming, social networking, emailing! What ever happened to old fashioned outdoor fun!! Chasing, rounders, hide and go seek! You can't get fun like that on the net. Although I have probably spoken too soon, more than likely there is an app available somewhere that offers the same fun to yougsters....
I was a teenager when the internet became fully fledged. We had dial up internet at home but rarely used it as it would take an age to load a screen. Everybody had the internet....but for convenience sake. You would sit and wait for a page to load for hours if it was important enough. Then it took off.....

College was a whirlwind of technology and everything was done through email, blackboard, researching...all online. It was important too me....How much harder would it have been, had I gone through college and my early days of work, without google to answer my every whim.
There is literally no end to its power!! We can do nearly anything we want to do online; book a holiday, catch up with friends...and their friends if you feel the need, do some shopping, watch t.v. If bored, you are only one click away from entertainment. We can browse from our computer, our mobile phone, even our television nowadays, straight from the couch...where will it end??

As great and powerful as it is though, I feel that technology sometimes gets in the way of true emotion and feeling. It has affected the majority of the world's social lives, with Facebook, twitter and the like. I do admit, it is an unbelievable invention, a convenience tool that can't be beaten and without it, we would undoubtedly be less productive in life.
So for me, pursuing a life offline would be quite difficult. I would have to actually meet up with my friends instead of 'chatting' on facebook, walk around the shops to find tonights outfit, read through brochures to decide on this years holiday and walk my real live dog instead of my generic sims pet!! Oh the horror!! Wherever will I find the time??

So here I am...on the fence...!! If..all together..we switched off the interent and started a life offline, without its existence, then yes, I could imagine a life without the internet. Then again, if I had to go alone in this pursuit, it would be an entirely different story........

Summary: My outlook on living a life without the internet, what are the pros and cons of having a life online
