No - I don't believe so. I believe in God and I believe he has a purpose, all of which is made clear in the Bible. Fate or destiny as understood by us does not exist in my opinion. We were created with free choice, hence we make something of ourselves or we don't, by good or bad life choices. We know when we make a bad choice and we normally try to learn from that through our choices and experiences. While we are alive we have free choice, but we know without doubt that in this world, in this condition, that we will die. We as humans cannot change that, we are weak without the power to control our own body as it ages over a lifespan of 70 to 100 ... Read the complete review

I actually suggested this topic for inclusion at "Speaker's Corner" as it's something I've thought about a lot over the years, and especially since I became a Christian back in the early 1980's. When I was growing up I had a favourite aunt (God rest her soul) who always used the old Scot's expression "If it be fir yi it'll no pass yi by".
