Premium Review Jigsaws: How many pieces do you like? (276 words)

I used to sit on a rainy day and get a big Jigsaw puzzle out and do it. Its a brilliant way to relax and relieve stress and takes your mind off things if you are worried about something. Its also very satisfying to complete a puzzle and a lot of fun to do. Ive always liked doing Jigsaws and the more bits the better. I dont see the point in doing ones that only have fifty or a hundred pieces as i can do these in no time. I prefer ones that are a couple of thousand pieces. Premium Review Jigsaws - stimulating and educational (336 words)

Jigsaws can be boring and tedious to do but they can also be stimulating and educational especially for young children. Some of the products available today offer big chunky pieces in bright colours which not only offer a challenge but also a sense of achievement. I recently purchased a Grafix puzzle box that has only 30 pieces called "When I grow up I want to be......" for £2.00 The idea is that there are 15 different puzzles made up of only twp pieces. It involves different characters doing different occupations and the idea is that you have to pick the two pieces to go together to get a picture of a person doing a job and the occupation ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Jigsaws: Boring! Boring!Boring! (210 words)

Boring! Boring! Boring! I have never been a great fan of jigsaws. Even as a youngster it was my Mum who always did the jigsaws I got from Father Christmas. After a while even Father Christmas got fed up buying me jigsaws - I can't think why? Well moving on a generation I now have children myself and a wife who likes doing jigsaws too. Is it a woman thing? My two daughters love doing them too and quite often our dining table has a large 1000 incomplete jigsaw on it. Why? I just can't see the point. It doesn't educate you. Why not get a book or something. Today it is my young sons birthday and guess what? My wife has got him a small Thomas the Tank 30 piece ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Jigsaws are puzzling (166 words)

Jigsaws are something I always remember my nan doing. Infact she still does them now. There is always a jigsaw puzzle stretched out on her little table in her living room. I did buy her one of those roll up mats to help her to store it away when she needed to use the table. I'm not sure that she uses it all that often though, maybe it doesn't work that well. I used to get the jigsaw puzzles handed down to me when I was little, when she had finished with them. But to be honest, I never really had the patience for them. They would frustrate me. I can see how they are a good tool for keeping your mind active if you are bored. My nan lives on her own, so its good to relieve ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Jigsaws: Now then, which piece goes where? (466 words)

Jigsaws are one of those activities that can be enjoyed by anyone, young or old, and come in a variety of styles, sizes, and shapes. I was not always a fan of jigsaws when I was a kid, but my wife has loved them for years and we have plenty in the house. My son has also developed a keenness and a knack for doing jigsaw puzzles, and we have a few designed specifically for children, too. Jigsaws traditionally consist of a picture made out of cardboard or other similar solid base, and the picture is cut into multiple pieces with 'lugs' on them, or holes, and they all fit together to make the picture. They are all mixed up and are a good exercise in patience and ...  Read the complete review
