Ronny JohnsenNewest Review: ... he has the ability to play an attacker out of the game at the highest level for both club and country. Unusual for a defender is his skill at carrying the ball and passing well. This allows him to fill in the midfield. Having highlighted his obvious strengths I can't see him getting a game when he comes back from injury. In the midfield we have the finest you could want with ... more |

A real bargain buy - yet another from the master of them, Alex Ferguson. Ronny is undoubtedly a great defender who rarely makes mistakes. He can do everything you'd expect of a defender at united - he's a good header, a good and determined tackler, and he has the ability to play an attacker out of the game at the highest level for both club and country. Unusual for a defender is his skill at carrying the ball and passing well. This allows him to fill in the midfield. Having highlighted his obvious strengths I can't see him getting a game when he comes back from injury. In the midfield we have the finest you could want with Scholes, ... Read the complete review

Ronny Johnsen has been in the Premiership for quite a few seasons now and he has fitted in well. He does not look out of place and has continued a good tradition of Norwegian players who have come to the Premiership. He is also a regulary Norway international player. Ronny has recently been out of the Manchester united team because of a bad injury but hopefully it won't be long before he is back playing. He adds great strength to the United Defence and he can also play in the midfield. He is a good replacement for Keane when he is out. Johnsen is a commanding central defender who never skips out of a tackle. He is good in the air and also has the rare skill ... Read the complete review

He is the most underated player in the premiership, his only downfall is, yes, as we all know and make a real point over, he is injury prone, but he was picked up for a cool £1million by Sir Alex, and has never let the club down since. He is only just short of Japp Stams ability, and cost united over £10 million less. There is going to be a lucky club who get him for free when he leaves United. an invaluable member of the squad, i recommend him to most division 1 and 2 clubs. ... Read the complete review

In a world where £1m doesn’t get you much, United managed to pick up a player of real class. Although he has had difficulties in recent years with injuries, he is the perfect partner for Jaap Stam at the heart of United’s defence. He is the same type of player as Sami Hypia or Lucas Radebe, the type who are fundamental to a teams success, yet who rarely stand out. Two of his performances do come to mind. Playing for Norway v. Brazil in the ’98 world cup where he marked Ronaldo out of the game, and v. Juventus at Old Trafford in the champions league in ’99. His usefulness is further enhanced by his ability to play in the centre of midfield if ... Read the complete review

I feel that before Ronny Johnsen got injured, the season before last, he was the unsung hero at Old Trafford, maybe only second to Dennis Irwin. Week in and Week out he made top class performances but rarely got the recognition that he deserved. A quality Centre Half he is good in the air but better in the tackle and always has an eye for a key pass. This season Ronny hasn't quite got back to his best, which he probably won't until he has 10-15 more games under his belt. ... Read the complete review
