Knockhill Circuit

For the last 7 years I have been going to Knockhill in Scotland.It is the only race track in Scotland.I have been to see the touring cars,super bikes and other catagories. It is a 1.30 mile track with twisty fast bumpy corners which is why people like it.The track has a reputation for lots of excitment and good racing.The first corner "Duffus Dip" is a great place to watch from. There is always 1 or 2 cars off at that corner.The second corner "McIntyre"is a great place for cars to overtake. As Knockhill is my local circuit (I live in Scotland, so its the ONLY track nearby :-( ), I'm bound to give it a good review. But it is truly a special track, totally unline any other in the UK. Having had the pleasure of driving round the track, on a racing driver course a couple of years ago, I can see why the drivers love it so much. It is extremely challenging, with a lot of changes of elevation. Most tracks are completely flat (e.g. Silverstone), but the change in height adds to the challenge. In May I had the oppurtunity to visit Knockhill in Scotland for the British Touring Car Championship.On reviewing my visit I have mixed feelings on it. It is a a circuit like no other,in the fact that it really shouldn`t be on the calender,the pitlane is to small there are no pit garages and no public car-park,you have to park 5 miles from the circuit and get a bus to it.
