Advantages: Great player
Disadvantages: attitude
When Chelsea signed Frank a few years back, very few people (including myself) knew much about him, and considering they paid only a few million (around £2M I think) it has proved a very good bit of business by the now departed manager… Having made an immediate impact and proved a vital cog in Chelsea’ success over the past few seasons, LeBoeuf has had a meteoric rise to fame that has seen him win a number of big honours both domestically and International, including the F.A. Cup, the Cup Winners Cup, the European Championships and the biggest honour of them all, the World cup itself! That alone should spell out how good a player he is, as no average player has an honours lists like that, but I think few people doubt his ability as a defender! Now getting on, Frank is now the wrong side of 30, and signs are he has started to lose his form and with it his idealistic appeal to the Chelsea fans. However, fact remains he is still a quality center half and has a lot to offer and club, most of whom would love to have a LeBoeuf in their side. What gets me though, is the arrogance and attitude problem this guy has. While I can appreciate his ability to play football (I have seen few defenders with the clam and composure on the ball, and his passing ability has shown a now side of the game to British defenders in my opinion), his attitude, quite frankly stinks! Talk about Arrogance! Because he has won the world cup, we keep getting it rammed down out throats, and now he seems to think he warrant some kind of special treatment or to be looked upon differently. He is also guilty of one hell of an evil streak, and this can often lead to him getting in hot bother with Referee’s, of course which is not his fault, as he is then guilty of victimisation by the refs due to his international success! Yeah right! I remember when my team Leeds played Chelsea at Stamford bridge, and he was having a right mare, Harry (the Jewel) Kewell made him look
like a schoolboy defender, and Frank knew this, and as a result of his combined embarrassment of being made look so bad and his anger/temper, stamped on Harry, resulting in a red card, and 3 months of constant whinging about how badly he had been treated! Few would doubt his talent, but his attitude leaves a whole lot to be desired! Sad, but true!
