Leicester City F.C. PlayersNewest Review: ... someone to play here. Centre Back – Matt Elliot Matt Elliot is probably Leicester City’s best player. He is a great defender and he can also play upfront. This is a great advantage for him because if there are not enough strikers available, it gives him the chance to play as a striker and try and score goals. He has scored quite a few for Leicester, even though he has played ... more |

Last season started so promisingly for Leicester, with Peter Taylor guiding them to the better half of the table, Leicester weren't scoring that many, but their conceded goal tally was the lowest in the league. Then it all went wrong - Leicester slumped and had an awful end of season, losing the majority of their last 10, this year, they've picked up where they left off. Goalkeeper – Ian Walker I have chosen Ian Walker ahead of Tim Flowers as I think he is a better keeper, he is younger, and he won’t concede as many goals as what Flowers has been doing recently. He is currently Leicester’s first team goalkeeper and I think he ... Read the complete review

Signed on his very first day in charge by the worst manager in Britain (Peter Taylor), Ade Akinbiyi sums up the current Leicester regeme. Realising he needed someone to hold the ball up after the sale of Heskey, Taylor immediately splashed £5million pounds on a player with the first touch of a brick wall. Realising we needed someone fast, he signed a player who would be outpaced by my Grandma, and probably outmuscled as well. He has stood up front all season, outrageously not being dropped (after all Taylor wouldn't be wanting to be seen to be wasting £5mill) and scored very few goals - every single one of which was a flaming mishit from 2 yards. Matt Elliott is a tower of strength at the heart of Leicester's defence. He is big, strong and very good with his feet. He is a giant of a man and he wins everything, on the deck or in the air. Also, he has got to be the most prolific goalscorer as a centre back the premiership has ever seen. You can expect 7 - 10 goals from him each season and that is an incredible achievement for a man who made his name with lowly Oxford United. The shaven haired monster is one of the best defenders in the Premiership and is a big reason why Leicester are pushing for a place in Europe! ... Read the complete review
