Well, I think if I put my hand on my heart when asked if I go against the grain on most things or whether I am a good boy, I have to say I generally have my own opinions about most things, partly because that is just me and partly because I hate all things that make someone look like a sheep. However, on the subject of life after death, a subject in which you either do or you don't, I have to go with the side that stands in favour of the belief that there IS life after death. I have always been brought up as a believer in Christianity, and as a Christian (believe it or not I do believe in God, although if you ever get o meet me you would probably call me a liar) I do firmly believe in life after death. I have always been brought up believing that during life we should do our best and to "do unto others as we would do to ourselves", something that can be very tasking at times, especially when like me, your source of employment involves dealing with people all of the time, namely working in a shop. You generally find that your patience for those of un-liberated mind quickly diminishes, even though I don't agree with snobbery, I do find myself losing patience with people that quite frankly don't have the brains they were born with. Anyways, enough ranting, this is a review about the afterlife, not about me getting annoyed with customers hehehe. At the moment I believe that I won't go straight to heaven, because so far in my life I haven't been the best person I could have been, like when I used to get bullied, I suppose what I should have done was sought help and guidance, however I chose to fight my own battles etc, but that's another review entirely. However, I am working on changing some of my character flaws, well, the ones I don't like about myself anyways, such as having a temper problem, like my dad, I really don't want to end up with a temper as bad as his, he isn?t a nasty person, he just has a
short fuse, and that reflected on me. When I was a little kid, I used to have this crazy fear that the devil would come and get me (yes I know it sounds like I was a really screwed up kid, and I personally think I was for a long time) while I was asleep, this scared me so much that I used to only be able to fall asleep if I had my entire body on the bed, nothing hanging over the side and duvet wrapped around me like a sleeping bag, that was the only way I felt secure. I have always had a fear of going to hell, and as such, apart from having a foul mouth, I do actually try and behave myself and be a generally nice guy most of the time. I think that the idea of those who have left things unfinished have to roam the earth as ghosts until they have accomplished that which will release their souls into heaven quite a prosperous one. Maybe it would do the spirit good to look back and try and fix it's wrong doings? Well, unless you are called Osama Bin Liner and Madas Insane! I do agree with some of the other reviews that I have read on this subject, there is no doubt that it is a subject that everyone has an opinion on, and there is always going to be mixed views on the subject unless someone miraculously proves that there either is or isn't an afterlife. Until that day we will all just have to speculate. I feel that the thought of the afterlife is always one that can actually be a scary thought, the thought of nothingness is a worrying one if there is no afterlife, but the thought that you can physically see the things that you care the most about, yet you can't touch or smell them. There is also the thought of sex, is sex classed as immoral in heaven, if so who agrees that hell could be a bit more fun hehehe, only kidding, sorry wicked side of me coming through there. I feel that if there is an afterlife we are meant to use it in order to correct the mistakes we made, the thought of being left on earth
until we have rectified our mistakes is plausible, and would compensate for things like ghosts and spectres, but I don't think that is the whole picture, I think that ghosts are meant to represent the evil that the human race causes, and hence the ideas of ghosts performing evil acts whenever they are seen, I can't see why they are doing the so called "scare" thing, if they are meant to be righting wrongs. I feel that if they exist, they are meant to show humans what will happen to them if they turn to the bad side of human nature, almost like they are hell's messengers so to speak. Anyway, I am actually quite curious to see some of the comments I get for this one, if any, normally I think ah well, they will either say the review is good bad or plain poo, but this time I am hoping I have provoked a few arguments, might make the comments box a bit more interesting I hope :D. Thanks for reading this op, hope it has provoked some thoughts for those none believers.

- 02/07/02 Interesting review - definitely not plain poo! Ditto Mauri's comment (blush). I don't think you would be held back from heaven because of your reaction to bullying. The bullies will, of course, burn in hell! ;-) |
