After becoming more and more despondent with the atmosphere at live football (Reading FC), my attention was gradually turned towards rugby union and the Guinness Premiership for a much more relaxed and inviting atmosphere (London Irish being my local team). After being a life long football fan I was convinced to go along to the Madjeski stadium on St Patrick’s Day this year to watch London Irish v Bristol Shoguns. After this first taste of rugby I was hooked and went to all the remaining home games last season and am now a season ticket holder this year. So I thought id write this op on my new found love for Rugby and one team in particular. This was also a change to give people a bit of an insight into the London Irish one of the best-supported teams in the Northern Hemisphere. What has happened to that great team London Irish??? I have been an avid supporter for a number of years and still recollect the days of standing in the mud at Sunbury with a crowd of 3000 screaming at the average rugby team. With the rise to the Premiership it was inevitable that the ground would have to change, but Harlequins for goodness sake?? However, the move turned out to be to our advantage pulling in bigger grounds and generally better facilities. However, don't fool yourself if you think the move to Reading will be the same.
