Advantages: nice and quiet just the way I wanted it
Disadvantages: looking back, how dull am I!
As always I borrowed the questions from elsewhere, but the answers are my own, and I thank you for bothering to read this, if you get to the end - well done.
1) What did you do in 2008 that you have not done before?
Strangely enough nothing new happened to me that I remember, it has been a very quiet year for me.
2) Did anyone close to you give birth?
My Australian cousin's wife had their twin daughters the week before Christmas, gorgeous little troublemakers they are too from all accounts.
3) Did anyone close to you die?
Only the last of my fish.
4) What countries did you visit?
Wales and Scotland, I didnt travel abroad due to a lack of time and money caused by my inability to stay in one job for more than a few months without getting bored.
5) What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008
Money, lol, at the moment I only work part time, and the drop in income has been hard, a second job would be fantastic and at least allow me to save now.
6) What days will you remember from 2008
At the moment nothing stands out, though I would hope that the day I met my current OH will be remembered in the future.
7) Did you suffer any Illness or injury
A sprained ankle, caused by falling over my dog when I was running, which has become a recurring weakness when I try to train properly.
8) What was the best thing that you bought
My best purchase has to have been my laptop, the old one was slow and hopeless, this is much faster and as yet hasnt broken too often!
9) Who's Behaviour has Merited Celebration
No idea
10) Who's behaviour made you appalled and depressed
No idea
11) Where did most of your money go?
Paying the last bits of my debts, and now in covering my day to day expenses, I have very little money for luxuries or going out sadly, but I love my job which is far more important to me.
12) What did you get really excited about
My new job in September, it allows me to combine my love of my sport and earning a living.
13) what song will you remember from 2008
Music wise not alot from this year has made it in to my collection.
14) Compared to this time last year are yu ... happier, fitter
I am definitely happier, this time last year I was still reeling from breaking up with a man I loved, whereas after a year of sorting myself out and learning to be happy with myself and standing fully on my own two feet again, I met someone in early November who is now my OH I cant claim to love him yet but he makes me happy and even puts up with my weird habits.
Fitter, hmm depends on your take, my hrm says I have improved my cv fitness, but my run times are slower than 12 months ago thanks to my sprained ankle, and I havent been swimming nearly as much as I probably should do given there is a pool next to where I work.
15) What do you wish you had done more of
More enjoying myself while I had the money to go out and do things, but equally more saving so I could be going out more now I have more time to enjoy myself.
16) What do you wish you had done less of
Procrastinating, I put off too many things last year which I could have got sorted quickly and cant afford to this year.
17) What was your favourite television programme
TV? I rarely watch it but the only thing I made sure was recorded for me was Oceans.
18) Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate last year
Hate? Thats a very strong word, Im not sure I hate anyone but there are plenty of people I dislike for various reasons.
19) what has been the best book of 2008
I read too much to say but I throughly enjoyed numerous books about the 'war' in Iraq, as well as crime novels and oddly my OU texts.
20) What was your greatest musical discovery
I havent really made and discovery's with music this year, unless you count the realisation that my taste is truely girly poppy awful!
21) What did you really want to get in 2008
Nothing, I rarely 'want' anything.
22) What did you want but didn't get
See above.
23) What was your favourite film of the year
Mamma Mia, sort of goes with my taste in music really, but it is such a feel good film I defy anyone to not at least crack a grin at some point.
24) What did you do on your birthday and how old were you.
I was 23, and I went for a meal with my mum and younger sister, with numerous cocktails before we all staggered home to get told off for drunkeness by my mums partner and then my Dad.
25) Who was the best person you met
My new OH.
26) Tell us a valuable lesson that you learned in 2008?
If you love your job then money is not important, as long as it is enough to cover the essentials.
Or a simple life is an impossible thing to find, so enjoy the ride.
HAPPY 2009 FOLKS, hope its as good as you always want it to be!
Summary: My year wot was.

- 10/01/09 It was, and despite dropping hints my family and male managed to completely and utterly miss the fact I wanted the book for Christmas, I'm hoping they wont be so idiotic when they release the series on DVD later in the year. |

- 09/01/09 Oceans was excellent. |

- 08/01/09 I know Devil, returning to my old bad habits of being up at all hours for no reason.
Yup duskmaiden I tripped over my dog, daft hound seems to think stopping in the middle of a narrow path is a good idea, then looks hurt when you run in to him! |
