Advantages: Learning more about what makes me happy...
Disadvantages: Having to go through the bad times to get to the good times...
Ok, ok, ok... I am jumping on the bandwagon. A little late as it is nearing the end of January already! But better late then never.... This is the year that was.... 2008. Thank goodness it is now laid to rest!
1) What did you do in 2008 that you have not done before?
Went on my first holiday out of the UK... lost my drivers license and got it back again...( I was a new driver and got 6 points by going through the same red light twice!!! I know I am such a Muppet... it was not intentional and I must have just gone through the amber... I was not a danger to anyone before people get worried, the road was empty and I didn't just run a red light.... I think I misjudged the amber and the camera caught my bum and I didn't realise... I have learnt my lesson and I am a much better more relaxed and cautious driver. I almost stop when the light is still green as I am so scared of misjudging the lights lol... bitter sweet!
2) Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but plenty of people got pregnant so ask me this question next year!
3) Did anyone close to you die?
2 people I knew died in November, very surprising, sad and not expected.
4) What countries did you visit?
Malta... my first holiday out of the UK... woohoo!
5) What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
I would like to have the will power to save money and to gain more control over my finances.
6) What dates will you remember from 2008?
March 5th, day before my birthday when my dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour. August 3rd my first time on a plane! September 5th for other reasons.
7) Did you suffer illness or injury?
To some degree... but nothing of amusement!
8) What was the best thing you bought?
ohhhh that's a hard one... I am going to change this up a little, the best thing that someone bought for me? A bracelet from Tiffany. It was a beautiful surprised and meant something more to me then just a material object.
9) Whose behaviour has merited celebration?
My dad, for being a fighter, not giving up and making me proud to have such a wonderful man as my dad. Also my mum for being there for my 24/7 and being strong enough for the both of us. If I could give them the world then I would.
10) Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My partner at one point, but we sorted that out. On a larger scale...well all the sick people in the news that should be locked up and forgotten about. Oh and Ken Livingstone... what a joke.
11) Where did most of your money go?
On my car and driving....Having to do the whole process again from scratch killed the bank balance.
12) What did you get really excited about?
My first holiday... sorry did I mention that! Lol oh and the introduction to Face book, I have got back in contact with loads of college friends and it has been great!
13) What song will you remember from 2008?
Leona Lewis... Bleeding love... (I am sure it was this song) and Chasing Pavements by Adele... these songs was everywhere and reminds me of certain times of 2008.
14) Compared to this time last year are you .happier, fitter, more productive?
I am a lot more productive and I have faced up to some real life problems which I need to resolve and I have started the journey.
15) What do you wish you had done more of?
More Reviews!! ;-)
16) What do you wish you had done less of?
Worrying, trying to keep others happy and been less nosy!
17) What was your favourite TV programme?
X Factor... I know... sad but true!
18) Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate last year?
I wouldn't say hate but there are a few people I have my eye on... waiting to stop them before they disrupt my life!
19) What's been the best book of 2008?
Martina Cole books, I read my first one and couldn't stop. I was extremely surprised at how brilliant her characters and storylines were.
20) What was your greatest musical discovery?
... Not too sure... I love music in general so I constantly find little gems.
21) What did you want to get in 2008?
Nintendo Wii... which I got but now don't really use! Lol I also wanted a new job which I started at the very beginning of the year
22) What did you want and didn't get?
I wanted to win the lottery but I didn't get it... boo!
23) What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I was 22 and I spent the day getting a massage, facial etc... then went to the hospital with my dad.... He anted me to treat myself... I wasn't being selfish!
24) What political issue stirred you the most?
Obama winning the US elections
25) Who was the best person you met?
Angie.... My new friend for life.
26) Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008?
To stick up for myself and if I rub a couple of people up the wrong way then they will get over it. I have an opinion and I don't have to try and make everyone happy all the time. I also learnt that I have one best friend forever and I should pay her a little more attention. X
That's me.... I feel so boring now.... So I am adding a new question...
27) What do you aim for in 2009?
To be more exciting! :-)
There you go.... Sorted... thanks for reading and enjoy 2009. x
Summary: 2008... the year before 2009!

- 15/02/09 Great review - very interesting to read! |

- 26/01/09 Blimey - same red light twice?! I sympathise - I went through one once and only earned myself 3 points - your punishment sounds a killer! And yes, Malta is a country ;-) |
|
- 25/01/09 Wikpedia: Malta is a small and densely populated European microstate, comprising an archipelago of seven islands, making it an island nation.
World Atlas: Malta, a country composed of three major islands, is located in the Mediterranean Sea, just 58 miles south of Sicily, Italy.
So it is an Island.... I think??? Well, either way it was the first place I have been too out of the UK. So it counts in my book :-) |
