Advantages: Great celebrations, Meeting my boyfriend, Birth of my niece
Disadvantages: Lack of money, being heartbroken.
~ MY PAST YEAR ~
1) What did you do in 2008 that you have not done before?lost
I have done a few new things really one of them being writing reviews for Ciao and Dooyoo which I have been quite successful at and have made quite abit of money. Another thing is that I held an Eagle owl in Lanzarote. I've never seen an owl so big before and it was great to be so close to an endangered bird.
2) Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes my sister who I am very close to gave birth to a beautiful girl in October 2008. My niece is the cutest baby I've ever seen and I get to see her nearly everyday. She had a long, painful labour and I am proud of her for what she went through. I enjoy being an aunt to Ruby so much.
3) Did anyone close to you die?
Luckily no one close to me did. There was an old landlord who dies who was a friend to the family but I wasn't very close to him. I think my mum and aunt went to his funeral though.
4) What countries did you visit?
I only had one holiday abroad last year as I was very broke. I went to Lanzarote with my mum, step dad and my little brother. It was really nice to get away as I was having a hard time and the weather was so nice. I did get burnt on the second day of being there which really hurt but it was a good, relaxing time. I'd defiantly go back there again.
5) What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
Not really sure- more money maybe but since we are kind of in a recession don't think that'll be happening lol.
6) What dates will you remember from 2008?
There are a few of these really so here goes- the first one is properly
* 22 January- I broke up with my long term boyfriend of 3 and half years. It was a horrible time really. He was my first proper boyfriend and it ended abit sour.
* 27 Feb- this was when I met my current boyfriend Jamie. It was a random meeting really going out for a work's do and one of my friends brought him along. It was a great night and even though I thought it would be a short thing as he is in the army we are still together now.
* 21 Oct- The day my niece was born. After a two day labour my sister finally gave birth and it was a happy day for everyone.
7) Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not much really except from the usual cold I was quite lucky.
8) What was the best thing you bought?
The new season Bath Rugby shirt which ill be wearing to the games this year. I don't get to buy a lot for myself so it was a nice present to myself.
9) Whose behaviour has merited celebration?
My mum who is always there when I need her, she's been great
this year when I had break ups and hard times and I really appreciate her.
10) Who's behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My dad's but that never changes each year.
11) Where did most of your money go?
Properly on going out. Apart from my rent I try and go out as much as I can to enjoy myself and forget about my problems. I also spend a lot when my boyfriend is back on days together as we have to make the most of it.
12) What did you get really excited about?
Apart from my niece being born I was really excited when my boyfriend was coming back on leave, especially when he came back for Christmas this year as we were apart for four months.
13) What song will you remember from 2008?
Properly two in particular. Distribia by Rhianna and Uninvited by Freemasons.
14) Compared to this time last year are you happier, fitter, more productive.
I would say I am a lot happier as this time last year I was going through my break up. I'm also happier in general with my life and what I do. I wouldn't say I was fitter; I still smoke and hardly do any exercise lol.
15) What do you wish you had done more of?
Not to sure about this properly making the most of everyday 2008 went so fast!
16) What do you wish you had done less of?
Wasting time on being worried and upset, life's too short and should embrace the moment.
17) What was your favourite TV programme?
Lost. Since moving to Sky I haven't been able to watch it so I have been catching up with it on DVD with season 4 which has just confused me even more.
18) Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate last year?
Nope. Hate is a strong word and there are properly only two people in the world I hate but I've hated them for year's lol.
19) What's been the best book of 2008?
I haven't really read any that came out in 2008. I have generally been reading ones I have already read because I like them so much and have done reviews on them.
20) What was your greatest musical discovery?
3 doors down. I only found them at the beginning of 2008 and love their music ever since.
21) What did you want to get in 2008?
A few more days off to relax.
22) What did you want and didn't get?
I didn't really want anything so I was pleased with whatever I got last year.
23) What is your favourite film of the year?
There has been a few that have been quite good actually including- Defiance, Role Models and Jumper.
24) What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I was 20 last year and it was quite a nice birthday. It was on a Saturday which was good and I spent the day with my family having a meal and then went out into town with all my friends. I got really drunk but I also had a great time and even met two bath rugby players.
25) What political issue stirred you the most?
Obama being elected I thought it was brilliant and I am intrigued
to see what changes he makes this year.
26) Who was the best person you met?
This is a great question. I met Matt Banahan in a club on my birthday which was brill. He is one of my favourite Bath players and I spoke to him and got my photo taken with him which I posted on facebook as soon as I could lol. My mum was very jealous indeed. He was very polite and didn't seem to mind at all and he is just as yummy up close in person than he is when watching him play.
27) Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008?
Just to be more happy with myself and make the most of each day. I've also learnt to not take as much crap off people as I used to. Live life to the fullest you can!
Hope everyone has a good year and enjoyed reading about my last year.
