Advantages: they are wicked
Disadvantages: defense a bit dodgy at the moment
GOALKEEPERS Barthez Joined united a season ago and has played very well. His handling is excellent and so are most of his attributes. The only disadvantage is his height, but he makes for it with his great agility and reflexes. Overall a superb goalkeeper. Roy Carroll Roy Carroll is a new summer signing and seems a good buy. What I have seen of him his bravery, agility, reflexes and handling are all pretty good. In my opinion money well spent. DEFENDRES Micheal Silvestre Signed for united from Inter Milan for the start of 1999/2000 season and has gradually made himself a usual at united. He has very good speed for a left back and his tackling is fairly good as well. He is also good going forward for United. Laurent Blanc A new signing for United from Inter Milan. He has loads of experience at club level and international level. He hasn’t quite settled in at United yet but give him a few months and he should prove a quality defender at the age of 35. Being at United will make other players like Wes Brown learn from his talent. Wes Brown He has been at United since he was 15 and has picked up many skills along the way. Still hasn’t steadied himself at club level, but as he gets more games under his belt I believe he could become if not the best but one of the best defenders in the world. Denis Irwin A very loyal member of the squad. Been at the club for the last 11 years. He is till a good player, but slowly fading from the United team. In his day Irwin has one of the best left backs in the world. Gary Neville More accomplished of the two brothers. Been at United since he was a teenager and learned a lot on his way. His teamwork is brilliant and his stamina is excellent. He has played over 200 games for Manchester United and picked up a couple of goals, maybe he should score a few more but his defending makes up for it at times.
Phil Neville Less preferred of the brothers. Been at united for 7 years and is a very flexible player, he can play in various positions including right back, left back, left midfield and right midfield. His determination and work rate are very good and only at 24 should become a excellent player. Ronnie Johnsen Been at the club now for just over 5 years and over the last few years hasn’t played much because of injury. He has some good qualities like his marking and his pace. I feel he will not be at the club for much longer. MIDFIELDERS David Beckham This player seems to have it all lately and provides Manchester United with great strenght. I feel he is the complete player now and scores quite reguarly aswell as providing alot of world class crosses. His crossing ability is quality. He seems to set up most of United's goals and is very influential. Nicky Butt Another player who came through the youth system and been at United a long time. Butt in ways is like Roy Keane. I feel when Keane goes into retirement he will be the perfect replacement. Such a solid player who has nearly everything, but everything will come into place as he gets older. Roy Keane Been at the club a long time and has got better and better. A true leader and an excellent player. He seems to come with everything. People say his determination and aggression is a weakness, but I feel without these attributes he wouldn’t be that good, that’s what makes Roy Keane such a powerful player. Juan Sebastian Veron What can I say because basically his name says it all. Such an established player and at the peak of his career coming to United for a British record £28 million plus was a good move. He is the ultimate player with everything, flair, technique, pace, passing, acceleration, shooting and these are just some of the qualities he offers at United. I feel he is the best summer signing in the P
remiership. Ryan Giggs Been at the club for as long as I can remember. One of the greatest midfielders in the world. I believe no-one on the left side can match his pace with the ball going at defenders. He is one of many great midfielders at United. His dribbling is unbelievable. He has played well over 300 games and scored a hat full of goals and still only 27. Paul Scholes An established first team regular at united with vast experience. He is one of the best attacking midfielders in the country and has great determination to win a match and his teamwork is amazing. His finishing from long range is very good and scores a lot around the box. His average for United is one goal every four games, not bad for a midfielder. STRIKERS Ole Gunnar Solskjaer A striker who always looks comfortable on the ball. Gets most his goals when he comes on as a substitute. They call him the super sub at United and he has also proved he can score when he starts as well. Played about 150 games and scored about 50 goals. I feel his greatest attributes is his balance because he never seems to fall over and his finishing is quality. Dwight Yorke Out of favour at the moment. When he is playing he looks so relaxed and comfortable its unbelievable. He has good finishing as he has proved and some good flair. Scored about the same amount as solskjaer for United. Andy Cole Andy Cole seems to be a funny player because he scoring record is good but when I watch him it always takes him 5 or 6 shots to score. But that also shows that he works hard and does a lot of the ball. Overall he is very good. Ruud Van Nistelrooy Another great summer signing for Manchester United. I don’t know much about Van Nistelrooy but what I have seen of him is quality. He is so composed in the box and his shooting is top class and he is also fast for a big man. Very good signing.
