Advantages: Nice design, Cool technology
Disadvantages: Pricey
Having supported the “Red Devils” since I was a wee lad, I thought it was about time I joined the bandwagon: so I got myself a nice red footy top. Please allow me to tell you about my most recent purchase: ++ Shoulder Lines ++ Whether all the Mau Utd players are weeds within, or the marketing guys at MUFC think we are all skinny, I am not sure. However the shoulder lines seem to stretch quite away on to the top of the arm. This creates a bulkier appearance, which can only be good. However if your really are a weed, you could end up looking a bit silly. So be warned. ++ Vapatech ++ The designers once created a technology called “Vapour-Release”, however the thought this may sound like they are calling all footy fans sweaty monsters. So they changed the name to something more, well, sellable. The result was: VAPATECH (Imagine that in the voice of God, or something). This system, which boils down to a few carefully placed holes, actually works well. I found myself refreshingly dry, well dryer than usual after a game of footy. ++ Sport Wool ++ Not sure about this one. I think it’s a kind of material that lines the shirt. Supposedly keeping you warm even on the coldest of days. My Experience? I still freeze on icy morning. My Opinion? All footballers should freeze; it’s a part of the spirit. ++ Too Long ++ In my opinion, the shirt is too long! Well what can I say, just thought it would be handy for you to know. Or maybe its because I am a shorty, well 5”10”. It’s debateable. ++ Quality ++ As you come to expect from those poorly paid, workers in harsh conditions, the quality is excellent. They really do a good job. However without getting into the ethics and all that, I would prefer to have a shirt made by British workers, on a decent wage. ++ Appearance ++ I personally like the look of the shirt. A nice deep
red colour, perfect for wiping a bloody nose on. The predominantly yellow logo provides a nice support to the red colour scheme. Also the “Vodafone” sponsor banner doesn’t look a million miles out of place. Price ++ Umbro ++ For me the Umbro “L” (Large) size fits like a glove. Hugging in the write places. It feels just as perfect whilst playing a game of footy, as it does walking down the street on match day. ++ Useful Info ++ Most of the sports shop o the shirt at the RRP of £39.99. However looking around I your local shops may unveil a better deal. If you want to order of the net I recommend the “Manchester United Megastore”. Here the prices are as follows: Shirt - £39.99 Junior, £49.99 Adult Shirt printing (Getting your name on the back) - £8.00 (Includes name and number) Postage and Packaging - £3.00 Basically save yourself over a tenner and nip down to your local shop. ++ Summary ++ The Man Utd shirt is both appealing and practical. If it wasn’t for the stereotyped view of footy shirts today, I would be fully satisfied. James (Glory Hunter, and the rest of them, muhaha)
