There are three aspects of a car manufacturers approved garage/dealer to consider - the supply of new and used cars of that make; the quality of servicing and repair; and the supply of parts. I shall deal with the servicing/repair and supply of parts in other opinions, and here consider only the buying of a new Vauxhall. I have described my experiences of buying a 1997 Vauxhall Corsa Breeze 5 door in 1997 in a previous Dooyoo review. On the whole, I will admit that this has been a very successful purchase. Our elder daughter is now running this car which has covered 48,000 miles and, so far, (touching wood) there have been no significant problems. However, ... Read the complete review

~ ~ Ever since old Henry Ford made the Model-T into one of the world’s first popular mass-produced cars, Ford have never been too far from the top of the manufacturer’s league. Today they produce a range of vehicles of all sizes and types, which they market internationally on every continent and in nearly every country on the planet. So it hardly comes as a surprise that here in the UK and Ireland Ford is the car of choice of literally millions of motorists. There are more used Fords on the second hand car market than any other marque, and it is these I am going to look at briefly here, in the form of a type of “guide” to what is ... In April we decided to purchase a new car as our old car’s cam belt snapped and damaged the engine, and would cost more then the car was worth to fix. In the paper we noticed an advert for Reg Vardy Citreon, Saxo Forte, 5dr for the price of a 3dr and with 0%finance. We booked a test drive, compared to old car the pedals were very close together, but we could only afford a super mini, we thought we would just have to get used to it. We were filling out the paper work, when we got to the finance section he started on about the cost of finance, we said we thought it was 0% he said no that was only the 3dr, pre registered W’s. The sales assistance was ... Read the complete review

Ok so you want a car, you stipulate an upper limit of how much you'll spend, and decide what kind of car you want, then you go to a dealer. As soon as you've walked onto the forecourt you turn into Mr/Mrs Gullible. The salesperson approaches, and asks 'can I help you' [translation: you're mine]. So you tell him/her what you want and what you can afford and he/she says how much can you afford a month [translation: I'm going to get you on credit interest charges, haha]. This familiar little tale continues until you find a suitable car (probably not the car you had in mind). Now comes the real art (con) of selling ... Read the complete review

Car Dealerships should be reviewed. Because lets be honest here often in large dealerships there are three sections: 1. New car salesmen - who will do anything to get you to sign on the line. 2. Used car salesmen - who will do almost anything to get you to sign on the line. 3. Servicing - who would do anything if they never had to hear from you again. Here are some details of Godfrey Davies in Welwyn Garden City. When buying my new Ford Galaxy (see seperate review) I was dissapointed by the new car saleman. I was lied to and he tried to keep my cash deposit which he was supposed to return. He tried to describe a 4cm gash in ... Read the complete review
