Car Dealerships should be reviewed. Because lets be honest here often in large dealerships there are three sections:

1. New car salesmen - who will do anything to get you to sign on the line.

2. Used car salesmen - who will do almost anything to get you to sign on the line.

3. Servicing - who would do anything if they never had to hear from you again.

Here are some details of Godfrey Davies in Welwyn Garden City.

When buying my new Ford Galaxy (see seperate review) I was dissapointed by the new car saleman. I was lied to and he tried to keep my cash deposit which he was supposed to return. He tried to describe a 4cm gash in the rear bumper as a dirty mark. Basically he saw somebody who had not bought a new car before and he took me for a ride. We also had no petrol in the car when we picked it up.

I wised up pretty fast and started threatening to return the car and in the end had to threaten legal action. I had the repairs done and got some compensation out of them - in the form of a fridge for the car.

The New Car Sales is not a section that I would ever deal with again.

Now with the ford Guarantee I can take my car to any Ford garage for servicing, but I am still going here becuase they have always been quite honest and helpful with the car and repaired things when they said they were going to and to be honest the repairs have seemed to been done honestly.

But I have a ford now - but on the whole I probably would not go back and buy another one again. There were too many problems. Plus trying to complain to Ford means ringing up a central number which seems to take about 30 mins of queueing which is not acceptable.
