I have been discussing this issue recently with my partner, as we both have very differing opinions about the matter. He thinks that marriage is a good thing, and wants to, one day, tie the knot (with me of course). I, on the other hand, do not actually see the point of marriage anymore. Back when it was unacceptable to have children out of wedlock, I understand peoples reasons for getting married. Howvever, nowadays as it is acceptable to have children without being married, I really dont see the point. I dont think the reason 'that you love each other' is a valid enough reason to get married. I love my partner very much, but I dont think I need to prove that to anyone, by taking one day of my life and spending thousands of pounds to do so. I am not a bitter old person, I am actually only 22, and a lot of people I know that are my age, actually think the same as me!
