After his superb performances for Real Madrid last season, in helping them to win the Champions League, I think it is fair to say that Kevin Keegan wasted him at Euro 200.

I mean what was the point of playing him on left midfield when he is clearly one of our best players, and should be playing down the middle- surely common sense should have told him that.

McManaman has tremendous pace, and can pass the ball around very effectively, as was proved last season. I think him and David Beckham would make a very strong centre of midfield and could help England to establish themselves as a foorce again.

McManaman then got booted out of the Real Madrid squad at the start of the season, but has since worked his way back, and played a major role in the destruction of Leeds two weeks ago.

I am sure that he will figure for Real for the rest of the season, but will Sven play him. I am sure he will, and probably not on the left. After all, when Steevey boy is playing well, it lifts the whole team and they all play well.
