Advantages: skill full, at a big club

Disadvantages: inconsistent

When Macmanaman left Liverpool to join Real Madrid few would have dreamt the impact he’s had over there. I have watched him play a few times and he seems such a good player. I am so surprised that he never gets chosen for England.
I am sure Sven Goran will realise what a good player he is and make him a regular.

Some of his performances have been exceptional, in the Champion League he doesn’t seem to be fazed by the teams he played against. At the beginning of the season there was much speculation after he lost his place, but he kept his head down and his mouth shut and has managed to get himself back into the first team fold.

Macmanaman is the only international player abroad who has gone there and been successful in recent years. If a few others went maybe our international game will have been successful. I think it’s so good the way he can speak Spanish and has made a real effort to fit in. He has won a Champions League medal and I wouldn’t count against him winning more.

A good player, inconsistent for country but I am sure he could do better if given the chance.
