Macca, has never quite produced for England like he did for Liverpool. He has played well for England, but has never really showed the form that he showed in the Champions League final. It was nice of Kevin Keegan to stick by Macca, despite being told by Real he has no chance of playing, it must have been a great boost for him.

Macca has only played well for England in Euro 96, when he was terrific. But, since then he hasn't really hit top form. Although, in Euro 2000, he scored in the Portugal game and looked as if he would play well, before he picked up an injury which effectively ended his participation in the tournament.

He came on as sub against France, and struggled to catch up with the pace, but who can blame him,as the Spanish season hasn't started yet.
It will be interesting to see if Macca will play in the Germany game, because he can produce the goods, it's just that he's never played in his favourite position, right of midfield, as Beckham normally plays there.
