The other day I noticed the category about planning your wedding and i thought I would tell you how we planned ours which took place four years ago. Hopefully there may be something to help you in either doing what we did or even avoiding what we did! The first thing that you need to know is that, at the time, my father was in the latter stages of Alzheimer's Disease and my mother was in the earlier stages of Vascular Dementia. They both lived with us and I was their full time carer. This did affect some of our choices. My partner was working in Glasgow at the time so the day to day things were sorted by me and things that needed both of us had to be sorted ... Read the complete review

LITTLE WORM, BIG HOOK? ADVICE ON HOW TO CRAFT THE PERFECT GROOM'S SPEECH There are some ideas for the perfect wedding that are beyond genius. One such ideal would be a Star Wars themed big day. Miss Clowny would walk down the aisle to the Imperial Death March; the Best Men would be suited as Storm Troopers; R2 would fire the rings out of the hatch where Luke's lightsaber is usually deployed; and Jar Jar would conduct the ceremony spouting quality dialogue along the lines of "do yousa taker thisa a woman to be your lawful wedded wifey"? When you add a first dance of 'Peaches' by the Presidents of the United States of America, whereby Mrs Clowny and I ... Read the complete review

I'm sure anyone who has planned a wedding agrees it is the best day of your life. The fact that you know you'll share the rest of your life with the man (or woman) is one of the most comforting feelings you'll ever experience. And I suppose the big wedding with all the trimmings isn't needed but most brides will agree it is important things run smoothly on the day. This review is really intended for all the brides-to-be, but to any grooms-to-be that are curious as to what actually goes on behind the scenes, you're more than welcome to have a sneaky peak! ______ THE BEGINNING ______ Well, it all starts with the proposal. This is the ... Read the complete review

I have been engaged over a year and have 10 months to go to the big day. So far I have learnt a lot from various experiences so I will share some top tips..... 1. Budget - when you sit down to budget for your big day be realistic. Ours went up when we started looking around and realised all the different options and extras you could have. I would suggest really looking around for a month or two before finalising your budget so you will know what details you will want. once you have set your budget it is wise to add 10% as a contingency. If you look around you will know if you want favour or not? Chaircovers or not? You can then ... Read the complete review

Me and my partner got engaged about 6 months ago and decided that a long engagement wasn't for us and that we wanted to get married this year so about 2 months ago I booked the local registry office and my wedding is now just 5 weeks off. Giving ourselves so little time to plan and with very little savings in the bank I knew that this had to be a wedding on a budget and in total so far my wedding looks as if it will cost about £1,300. I decided that I wasn't going to let a very small budget make my day any less extravagant. I might not have lots of cash to throw at it but I have time. First things first, the dress. I bought my dress ... Read the complete review
