He's nearly "The Greatest" (Mike Tyson)

Advantages: Hard puncher, Anything he hits he destroys

Mike Tyson goes by the name of "Iron" Mike Tyson and there's a valid reason, he punches like he's got an iron in his gloves. He is one of the most feared boxers ever to have graced the boxing ring but he is also one of the most dis-resectful fighter's to enter it.

His last fight against the massive Dane Brian Nielson was a cool, calm and calculated fight from Tyson's point of view. He seemed to pace himself well considering he weighed his biggest he ever has, he punched well and most of all he obeyed the referee's orders at all times. If Tyson fought like this in every one of his fights then he would probably go down as the best heavyweight boxer ever. But sadly he doesn't.

Tyson may have had an hard up-bringing. But doe's that excuse raping a woman? Or biting someones ear off? Tyson has served his time and punishment for his crimes so we as the boxing spectator's should give him a chance.

If you compare Tyson to the legendary and in my mind, "The Greatest" Muhammed Ali there is no comparison in their boxing talent as well as mentallity. As boxers, Ali could talk a great fight as well as fight one, Tyson on the other hand has trouble talking to the media without them taking them seriously. Tyson can fight a great fight but when it comes to taking hard punches, he doesn't want to know. In comparison, Ali took as much a beating then his opponents did but he didn't go off the rails and start biting his opponents. For this reason only, this is why I think Ali was a better fighter. Ali had respect. Respect from his fans, media and more importantly his opponents. This cannot be said of Tyson.

Now that the Tyson-Lewis fight looks like it's going to take place, Tyson can prove he is a worthy Champion again. He is on another charge for assault at the moment but going by reports the accusser (Mitchell Rose - Former Heavyweight boxer) sounds as if he's lying.

If
Tyson continues to act the way he has done over the last fight then maybe he will gain the respect that he (sometimes) deserves.
