Okay so the much debated money in football. When talking about money in football everyone focuses on how much money a footballer earns. You need to actually break this down and look at facts. Top players today get £200,000 a week, which is obviously pathetic, i dont argue with that. Top teams pay around £30million a year in wages, which is again pathetic. Top players can get £8 million a year with sponsors on top of that, which again is pathetic. Lets actually look at a personal players income. Lets say you are on £200,000 a week, you are world class, you are in the newspapers every week when you are seen with a girl or seen with your family on a beach and ...  Read the complete review

Seeing the title of this subject I believe that footballers and the managers are over-paid. Way. too. much. I mean about 250,000 or more just for kicking a football around for 90 minutes, some can't even play a dam good game and it is ridiculous amount of money just to give to one human being! To be honest there are some over-rated footballers out there such David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Cole. Even if a footballer is talented, still they shouldn't be over-paid. Look at all that wasted money that should be given to charities that could save millions of lives and get people out of poverty and make this a fairer world or people with better jobs such as ...  Read the complete review

My mate is footballer but he only plays in the reserves at walsall and he does not mind being paid a professional footballers pay packet. He plays for a lower league team in league 1 so this means compared to other people as in like Chelsea reserves he will not be getting paid as much and this comes with its reasons,The first thing think of is the bigger the club the more you will get and the lower the club you play for the lower you get this is only because lowest teams don't have the funds to pay there players At his team he is on like 700 pound a week sometimes 1000 depending on how many times he plays etc but my point being does it really ...  Read the complete review

Being a footballer myself i would not mind being paid a professional footballers pay packet. However, i know i will never get to the professional level so i despise the ammount of money they are paid. Playing for a lower league team i have seen that many more professional players are on a much more measly pay packets than the likes of the Rooney's and Beckhams in the business. The average in my club being around 200 - 300 pounds a week which is not dissimilar to a normal job. Whilst working class britains are clamping down on luxuries because of the current economic crisis the higher league players are portraying an ignorant attitude and displaying ...  Read the complete review

Money in Football: £100 million turned down. Now what? Bellamy (183 words)

Manchester City have been forced to learn the hard way that having money wont guarantee the success their owners demand. They will have to gain European status in football so that they can offer players everything that other clubs can such as their rivals Manchester United and Chelsea. Having the money will tempt some players but the genuine players will seek Champions league and realistic ambition. Seeing the work they have done so far with Bridge, Bellamy and De Jong entering the Manchester city frame I can see they understand their situation and are grabbing players that will improve their squad. They have bought players that will help their cause of trying ...  Read the complete review
