Advantages: the footballers are never short for anything

Disadvantages: takes the fun out of football

Being a footballer myself i would not mind being paid a professional footballers pay packet. However, i know i will never get to the professional level so i despise the ammount of money they are paid.

Playing for a lower league team i have seen that many more professional players are on a much more measly pay packets than the likes of the Rooney's and Beckhams in the business. The average in my club being around 200 - 300 pounds a week which is not dissimilar to a normal job.

Whilst working class britains are clamping down on luxuries because of the current economic crisis the higher league players are portraying an ignorant attitude and displaying the belief of, what credit crunch? For example when Christiano Ronaldo crashed his 500k car he simply bought another from two weeks wages. Furthermore his team mates supported him by turning out in their Bentley's all worth around 300k to prove to the world that where the money is, the footballers play.

Summary: football is now a business not a game
