Advantages: Quality players being brought to the premiership

Disadvantages: is money going mad

A report which has been released over the last couple of dats has clearly outlined that many if not all apart from a few such as west ham who got the £18million from the sale of rio Ferdinand are losing millions of pounds each year on the transfer market. Leeds are top of the Premiership table of big-money buyers. my team leeds united mainly because of a certain £18 million. They may only be in mid table however we now have our 'Dream Team' and will soon be pushing for honours. Only Gerard Houllier's Liverpool come close to Leeds.

Leeds currently are responsible for a transfer deficit of close to £50million over the last five years. in my view some money well spent and others not, many of these i feel came from george graham, however 'jimmy' i must admit was good bit of bussiness, bought for around £1million sold for £12 million. I feel this transfer reflected goerge grahams ambition, which was to sell off players such as 'jimmy' so the club made a profir. With david oleary i feel we have turned the corner and the arrival of Rio represents are aim for success on the domestic and european front.

The report states Elland Road is not the only place to be trading at a huge loss on the transfer market, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham all more than £40million down.

West ham, up £18,330,000 and the only team to be trading at a transfer profit over the past five years, would be in credit even without Ferdinand's move - but only just.

arsenal can gain slight credit for only being £2,050,000 in debt due to the double sale of Emmanuel Petit and Marc Overmars to Barcelona for £30million.

with leeds hitting top of the big spenders, over the next couple of years i feel there will be a number of pieces of silverwear heading for elland road!!!!!!!
