I need it, we all do. We cannot survive without money. But, it has become a god to be worshipped, to be attained above all else. Yet, when you get it, it goes so quickly, and you want more.

Even if you don't spend it, you want more! Why? It defies logic and reason. How many people would actually admit to being well off, and with no money worries? Very few. Even those who have more than enough, don't consider themselves to be comfortable financially.

They want more, a better standard of life, more security, etc, etc. The funny thing is, money does not bring happiness. Fact. It can add to your happiness, but, on it's own, it doesn't make you happy. If anything, lots of money can bring you grief. For one thing, you develop a great fear of losing it, having it stolen, and so on. It is very hard to be content with what we have. The natural impulse is to try to get more, sometimes to the detriment of our mental and physical health.

We must stop it! There's only so much food we can buy, or alcohol we can drink, only so many hours in a day. Loads of money will not solve our problems, maybe a few, but it will bring new ones.

We all know this, but, who can get off the rollercoaster called materialism, and slow down, and be content like we were in years gone past? Takes some thought, but, it can be done.
