Juan Pablo Montoya

Description: Sports: Motorsport / Sport Topic: Motorsport Drivers / Colombian-born driver for Target/Chip Ganassi Racing.

Newest Review: ... because Juan has made a remarkable turn around in his F1 career. He decided to start driving more cautiously, just to make sure that he made it to the end of races. So once he had got race distance under his belt he went off like a rocket, grabbing three pole positions and also winning the Italian grand prix. Therefore we could see that this guy was going to be a success - and he hasn't ... more

Premium Review Juan Pablo Montoya: Surely a future champion  (575 words)

Juan Pablo Montoya - aged 25 burst onto the formula one scene and had a fairly unspectacular first couple of races. Crashing, silly overtaking manoeuvres were what he was about. It firstly appeared that team principle Sir Frank Williams had made a decion he would regret. A great car was developing but he had an arrogant and not cautious at all driver paired up with a more cautious level headed guy. It was also made public that Juan and Ralf Schumacher (his team-mate) really hated each other. They never talked about races or the cars. They just argued and it appeared Sir Frank would have to get Jenson Button back from Benetton because Jenson had been loaned out to the ...  Read the complete review

That's right, The Colombian, Juan Pablo Montoya is as good a kick as any for the Williams team. In fact no, he is the best kick they could get. I have every faith in this driver and it seems that not many people disagree! I'm not here to give you a bunch of stats and figures about F1 and the driver because, to be frank, I don't know any! I just thought i'd briefly let you know why we all love Mr. Montoya. FIrst of all, he's a Colombian. THis is particularly close to my heart as i used to live in this beautiful, but war-torn country. As i said in mr Shakira review, it is great for the country with it's bad reputation to be ...  Read the complete review

When a new driver enters Formula 1, traditionally it has always been with one of the smaller teams to gain some experience before moving into a major team. However, in the past few years this trend has altered with new young drivers being snapped up by major teams and thrown in at the deep end of Formula 1 racing. A fine example of this is Juan-Pablo Montoya who has entered the Williams BMW team and already is showing what a good driver he is. But then Montoya is no rookie. Previously he was the test driver for Williams so he is already well known to the team. In America he won Champ Car title and has been a real star in Cart racing, particularly on the oval ...  Read the complete review

~ ~ At one time I was a great fan of Formula One motor racing, when the sport had some fantastic drivers and personalities like the late, great Ayrton Senna, and the “flying Scotsmen” Jackie Stewart and the late Jim Clarke, to name but a few. But as the sport in the past few years has become more and more dominated by the cars, and more specifically by the teams with huge sponsorship and the necessary money and know how to develop these cars, much of the excitement has, for me, been lost. Now watching a race is almost like looking at a model train set, as the same cars circle endlessly round a given circuit, and with the result of the race almost ...  Read the complete review
