Advantages: Outstanding Super Bantamweight.
Disadvantages: Is he better than Naz?
I have seen a Super Bantamweight called Eric Morales fight twice and have been extremely impressed. The first time I saw him, he was fighting Angel Chacon. For the first round, he rained punches on Chacon, who barely threw a punch for fear of getting hit. In the second, Morales continued his onslaught and knocked Chacon through the ropes. It was one of the most sustained four minutes I have ever seen. Chacon threw about two punches in the whole fight. He was totally outclassed. The second time I saw Morales fight was in one of the greatest fights of all time. He was fighting Marco Antonio Barrera. For twelve rounds, these two great boxers fought, and I do mean fought. There were no breather rounds, no backing off and catching breath. For twelve rounds these two went at it. At the end of the fight, both men were still standing and the result was tight. I am pretty sure that Morales won, but it would have been equally fair if Barerra had. They claimed that Naseem Hamed wanted to fight the winner but I think that if Hamed fights Morales, he could very well lose. Hamed is a great fighter, but Morales could be that little bit better. He looks like a complete fighter as his bout with Barerra showed. Morales is not well known yet, but if he keeps going, he could well become one of the all time greats. Keep your eyes open and remember the name; Eric Morales.

- 23/08/00 Oooh, I hope not - my husband is Naz's greatest fan! What if Chelsea lost on the same day? Would his life ever be the same? ;-) |
