Advantages: The cat will love you for a month of sundays and more ....
Disadvantages: Needs some stomach ...
Down at the chip shop ... Many moons ago ...
I was a little naieve at chip shop lingo and about 10 years ago i went down the chippy, my old man said get some batter bits, which i like, i thought 'wonder what else they have?' so when i got there i looked at the hoardings and saw 'fish bits 30p' (or similar) so i thought ohhh! nice, I asked the woman behind the counter for two portions of fish bits..... along with the main order.
She went out back and was a long time gone, anyway when she came back she carried two bloody great wrappers and my eyes lit up (that's value for money!) she engaged some banter whilst sorting out the rest of my order and i pointer to the fish(y) bits and said with a beaming smile 'i'm looking forward to these when i get in', she stood, ,pondered, frowed and looked dumb struck .. 'is that all?' yes thanks .. so money changed hands and off i went. i got home and told said father what i had got, he said 'why did you get fish bits for?' i said i fancied some at which point he nearly fell over with laughter...
i was advised by my smirking sister that 'fish bits' were the bits left over that they put in the freezer for people who have CATS !!
Didn't i feel the feline pratt?!!!!
Dad had a cat (and still has) called Charlie .. the cat slept with me for a week on my bed ... best buddies me and him, and he ate better than i did for that week, no wonder the sod turned his nose up at whiskers after that. little shi!
I never did go back in, just in case she asked me if i wanted 'second helpings' ... i am ultra cautious now with fish shops and what they have on the walls.. especially if its for 30p and arrives stone cold in large wrappers.
Ho hum, live and learn, tin of whiskas anyone?!!!
I never did live it down !!! :/
Summary: 9 out of 10 idiots in fish shops prefer it ...
