Advantages: provides constant entertainment for friends and family

Disadvantages: very uncomfortable!

As someone who tends to walk around with my head in the clouds, I've had many, many embarrassing moments to entertain people with! So, in no particular order......

on my first driving lesson with my new instructor, the lesson went really badly because I was so nervous. So, driving home, I indicated right to turn into my street, when my instructor asked 'isn't it the next one?' and I realised I'd turned into the wrong street! It didn't get any better when he asked me if I'd moved house recently and had to tell him I've lived there for 22 years....

While out shopping one day, I noticed a girl walking straight towards me. As I got nearer, she carried on straight towards me. I smiled at her and she smiled back, but still didn't stop. Eventually, we did the weird sidestepping dance that everyone has to do when they're in someone's way, and I said sorry. Only then did I realise I had just apologised to my reflection! I was so glad that nobody was around to see me do this (I checked to make sure)!

When an extension was being made to my house a few years ago, for some reason, there was a wire directly outside the front door. I stepped outside to talk to one of the builders, tripped on the wire, and my shoe flipped off. I was about to hop about looking for it when the phone rang inside, so I answered that instead. A few minutes later, the builder rang the doorbell and asked 'is this your shoe?' my only reply was thank you, with no explanation. It was really surreal as well as embarrassing!

Apart from this, there have been times when I've gone to the men's toilets without realising, walked onto stages from the wrong side, attempted to enter a building where a fire alarm had gone off and everybody else gathered outside it, staring at me, and many more!

I recently was rushing to get to a class on a rainy day, and managed to trip over one of those 'wet floor' cone thingies. I went flying and the cone was rolling about on the floor so I had to go back in a fluster and pick it up! There was a whole buch of people who saw it happen too - some of them from my class....(some of them were still laughing by the time I got to class :(

A couple of weeks ago, I was staying at my cousins' house. When I was about to go, I realised I couldn't find my phone, so got someone to ring it. Everyone was trying to help me find it by stationing themselves outside different rooms to check if they could hear it ringing. I had already looked in my bag a couple of times, but after about 20 minutes of searching, I checked my bag again and there it was! I felt very sheepish.

Incidentally, my phone fell down the toilet :(

Summary: some of my star moments
